Sick & Corrupt: The True Crimes at Edgewater Hospital

Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at 7pm

Linda Sokol Francis Brookfield Library

Stephani and Todd present the true crimes that destroyed Chicago’s Edgewater Hospital as part of the library’s True Crime Club. Hear the decade of fraud that turned the storied hospital into what people called “a butcher shop.” In order to pad their bottom line, the hospital resorted to putting patients in their beds who weren’t sick and subjected them to invasive tests, procedures and surgeries. The presentation is free and open to the public. A Q&A follows. Register to attend here.
